Postlude on Psalm 150
This bright and lively postlude was inspired by Psalm 150. The text is an exhortation to praise the Lord with various instruments, including “trumpets, loud cymbals, and the organ.” (The organ referring to wind instruments.) The material is fugal, Bach-inspired counterpoint interjected with slightly unusual harmonic cadences that propel the music through various keys.
